By entering this competition you are agreeing to abide by the Junior Spectator Code of Conduct from Devon Golf.
.If parents are observed to breach such a prohibition or seen to be
offering advice to players, or touching equipment the player will be penalised.
At all times, please exercise good golf etiquette, and respect host club policies. If permitted to be on
the course lease abide by our spectator code of conduct:
1. Ensure your mobile phone is switched off or on silent.
2. Do not walk close to players and try to always maintain 50 meters from play. (We don't want any
allegations that they have been offered advice).
3. As well as not giving advice, do not offer information to players on:
- Local Rules, which are often different from those of the Club
- Rules of Golf – leave that to referees or county officials
4. Keep to the sides of fairways (not on them). Please keep to rough where possible.
5. Keep away from any ball in play (adhering to point 2).
6. Ball spotting and searching.
- You may assist in ball spotting and searching – allowing for the 3-minute rule permitting such
a search
- Do not touch a ball if it might be a player's ball.
7. If required you may offer food, drink, and clothing but only between holes. Ideally the player is
prepared before start of play.
8. You must not carry or handle a player's clubs or equipment as the player can then be liable to a
General Penalty (2 shots) - your actions could be construed as caddying.
9. Keep still and quiet and do not use a camera when a ball is being played.
10. Whenever players under 18 are competing, you may not take photographs.
11. You may assist evacuating players in the event of a weather suspension.
12. If in any doubt – ask a tournament official.
